Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care
King's College London is a leading University with one of the largest groups of applied and allied health and social care researchers in the world, across nine Faculties. King's has been ranked 1st place in the world for Nursing in the QS World Rankings by Subject and produces more highly cited research outputs (top 1% citations) on palliative care than any other Centre internationally (SciVal). It is among the top in the world for midwifery and palliative care research and education and also has strong research programmes in digital health care, care in long term conditions and participatory methodologies.
We are now looking for an outstanding academic to join the Faculty leadership team as Vice Dean of People & Culture to provide strategic direction and delivery on ‘People & Culture’ opportunities and processes within the Faculty, including recruitment, probation, promotion, and Performance Development Reviews to support and advance Academic Education Pathway (AEP) academics and those on Education and Research (E&R) contracts (clinical and non-clinical).
Working in conjunction with the Executive Dean’s senior team, the postholder will ensure that our Faculty staff are enabled to reach their potential in line with our Faculty strategic goals. They will seek to ensure that our Faculty does so in a way that shares a common vision of academic success, supports individuals to identify their development and delivery goals, and supports them to achieve it, while ensuring that we do so in an equitable and inclusive way that encourages diversity.
Applicants must have a PhD, an excellent publication record, and a strong track record of securing research funding from funders such as the UKRI and NIHR. It is essential that applicants have the enthusiasm and commitment required to contribute to the further development of the research standing of the faculty, and to contribute to teaching and broader administrative activities. They will make a strong contribution to our academic outputs through their own programme of research.
