The Operations Centre is a multi-function team comprising Systems, Endpoint, Monitoring and Database engineers. We play a pivotal role in ensuring Students and staff have access to the applications and end-user services they need to support their work and learning. Working closely with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd line teams. We manage the critical start-of-term endpoint refresh, along with packaging, deploying, upgrading, and repairing applications specified by course leaders and Colleges. We utilise management tools such as Intune, SCCM, MECM, and Jamf Pro.
About this role
The Endpoint Engineer Operations Centre provides best-practice technical expertise in operating and improving the University’s end-user computing environment and services.
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in endpoint management, including a varied selection of managed and unmanaged devices and BYOD. They will also be familiar with packaging, deploying and fixing software applications across a large-scale IT estate. They should have current skills appropriate to the administration and development of endpoint management tools. The successful candidate must have experience in Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, Apple iOS, and Linux. They will also be used to identify opportunities for improvement, find and implement innovative technology solutions, and enhance the end users' desktop experience.
