The Department of Meteorology in the University of Reading is a thriving community of over 200 academics and research scientists and is a world leader in weather and climate research. We are seeking to recruit a curious, enthusiastic, and critical thinking researcher to perform an assimilation run with the global ocean sea ice model NEMO-SI3 and the Parallel Data Assimilation Framework (PDAF) to create a physically constrained sea ice reanalysis. This work will be carried out under the NERC project CRISP (Constraining Reanalysis of sea Ice by correcting Seasonal feedbacks in the Polar regions) with co-operation with UCL London and international project partners.
