We are seeking a talented and ambitious Research Fellow to contribute their skills to help design and develop a specification for a healthy behaviours programme for children and young people (C&YP) who have completed cancer treatment. Our focus is on the supportive role of physical activity, dietary and healthy behaviours to enhance C&YP’s wellbeing. This project has been funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research.
You will be working alongside a study team comprised of academics and clinicians across several institutions, and will be involved in conducting and managing the collection of research data using a variety of mixed methods.
A key focus of the study is consulting with a variety of stakeholders to define their programme needs and preferences. You will be involved in research activities including conducting evidence scoping and stakeholder consultation and delivering co-design activities with C&YP.
In the first six months, alongside team members, you will be scoping and reviewing evidence that will help the project to determine the best approaches for supporting C&YP and carers post cancer treatment to engage in behaviours such as physical activity and healthy dietary habits. You will be conducting interviews with children and young people (C&YP) and surveying the views of healthcare professionals. You will be contributing your ideas for creative ways to inspire C&YP to share their lived experiences and co-create a supportive programme that can meet their needs.
If you are offered this post you will be subject to an enhanced with barred lists check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
