The Role
Are you an experienced admissions professional who is looking for a new role. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individual to contribute to the management and development of the Undergraduate Admissions Service as the Undergraduate Admissions Manager. You will also lead on identified University-wide projects to improve the quality of the applicant experience to maximise Undergraduate student conversion.

Part of the Academic Services Hub and External Relations Directorate, Newcastle University Undergraduate Admissions Service process all undergraduate applications to Newcastle University.

This position will deputise for the Head of Undergraduate Admissions, support the management of the Undergraduate Admissions Service and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the operational functions of the Undergraduate Admissions Team. The post holder will lead on identified University-wide projects to improve the quality of the student experience pre-entry in order to ensure an excellent applicant experience and maximise Undergraduate student conversion.

We are particularly keen to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience of working in a busy and varied customer-focussed service in the higher education sector.
  • Expert understanding of university admissions processes and knowledge of the wider admissions context for both UK and International.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Line management experience.
  • Excellent IT skills including experience of using student information systems (or similar) to support administrative processes and reporting.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively.

This role is a fixed-term maternity cover until May 2026.
