As part of our commitment to the continued expansion of pharmacy and medicine at Bangor University, the newly formed North Wales Medical School seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Cancer Biology & Pharmacology to contribute to the development of our growing portfolio of research and programmes in medical, pharmaceutical and health sciences. Applications are invited from candidates with a PhD (or be near completion) and postdoctoral research experience in cancer cell biology, pharmacology, translational biomarker discovery, cell therapy, immuno-oncology, or related discipline. Candidates with research interests aligned with our established research centres are particularly welcomed.
Research and collaboration opportunities exist across the NWMS and within the North West Cancer Research Institute which houses well-equipped research laboratories, focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer and translational research to improve cancer detection and treatment. The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to teaching undergraduate programmes as directed by the Head of School.
The post is full-time and permanent, and the successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as practical. Applications will also be considered to carry out this role on a part-time or job share basis.
This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
