We're champions of creativity and collaboration, dedicated to giving our learners the specialist skills and opportunities they need for outstanding careers in digital media, design and the broader creative sector. We are based at Greenwich Peninsula in an iconic building next to The O2. Our aim is to become a portal for talent across London driving growth in the knowledge economy and creative industries.
About the Role
Are you an experienced media professional with a passion for storytelling and digital creativity?
This is a multidisciplinary course which includes social media marketing, videography, cinematography, podcasting, photography, graphic design and industry experiences, and we need a team player to help develop our learners’ skills in digital storytelling, nurture their creativity and boost their long-term career prospects.
The successful candidate will be part of the team and contribute to the teaching delivery of modules for this course, and associated courses. You’ll be leading on teaching media production skills and have input into the overall course content. The course specialises in creating multimedia branded content, and so a keen understanding and experience of the industry is needed.
You will be responsible for designing, planning, delivering and assessing modules on photography, videography, advanced filmmaking, as well as professionalism within the digital content industry, teaching 12 hours per week during the academic year. An understanding of social media trends and strategy is a must, and you should be interested in latest innovations in the field.
You’ll be providing hands-on, practical tuition, guiding students as they work with industry standard equipment, learn to set up professional shoots, and craft compelling digital narratives across a range of platforms. You’ll combine the theoretical and practical to deliver engaging sessions, bringing real-world insight into content creation, drawing from your own professional experience working for clients to develop content for social media and digital campaigns. Our students want to be inspired by their teaching staff and are eager to develop their skills in the technical and practical side of content creation.
Our course has forged excellent links with key players within the industry. The candidate will be an important member of the team and help us to continue to build on these relationships, and forge new ones, to enrich student experience and prospects. You’ll help us market the course to prospective students as well as support current students to develop and showcase their work as they begin their careers.
About You
You will combine professional experience, academic rigour, pastoral support and a strong understanding of current industry practice to create an excellent, inclusive learning environment for our students.
The individual we are seeking will have experience of crafting compelling narratives, with expertise in the theoretical and practical elements of photography, cinematography, post-production, motion graphics as well as associated software, with a particular focus on Adobe Creative Cloud. You should have a proven track record of teaching these skills, or relevant industry experience. Expertise in 3D software is desirable, but not essential.
You may have an undergraduate degree in a media or design related subject, or potentially industry or equivalent experience. A teaching qualification is desirable, as is a willingness to engage in training and development in this field.
