About the role

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Control Engineering group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The position is funded by EPSRC and is fixed term for up to 36 months with a start date on or before 1st October 2025.

This post will involve developing analysis and control methods for systems described by PDEs, with applications in flow control, in collaboration with researchers at the Arizona State University. You must have the organisational skills and initiative to carry out independent research; be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team; and have the written and verbal skills necessary to present scientific ideas clearly. Experience in developing mathematical algorithms and simulations in MATLAB, in particular with Semidefinite Programming and Sum of Squares and of the analysis and design of feedback control systems using these approaches, is essential.
