We are looking to recruit a full time Teaching Associate in the Sociology of Media and Culture from 1 September 2025 or as soon after as possible to provide teaching in the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge for a fixed term until 31 July 2026.
The role holder's duties will be:
General duties will include teaching, teaching administration, course development and innovation, and examining. The Teaching Associate will be expected to support and maintain the Department's and University's national and international reputation for excellence in teaching.
You will have relevant teaching experience, hold a PhD in a relevant field and be able to demonstrate active, collegial engagement in research, teaching and outreach in the Sociology of Media and Culture.
You will be an engaging and confident teacher at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and/or looking to develop postgraduate teaching skills.
The Department of Sociology is part of a joint undergraduate degree programme in Human, Social and Political Sciences (HSPS) and also has a vibrant MPhil and PhD programme. There are currently about 80 students working on PhDs on a diverse range of topics in sociology.
