Birkbeck, University of London is seeking an Associate Lecturer to join the School of Psychological Sciences and teach on our cognitive psychology courses.
We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Lecturer to join the teaching team on the Certificate of Higher Education, BSc Foundation Year and BA Programmes for the following module:
As Associate Lecturer, your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of the Understanding Applied Cognitive Psychology module, which is a Level 4 module offered as part of our Certificate of Higher Education, Accelerated Foundation Year and BA programmes.
The module offers an introduction to cognitive psychology, and the major elements of cognition (attention, perception and memory) that will serve as the foundation for more detailed exploration of these topic later in their degree.

Please note: candidates need to demonstrate competence or significant potential in all areas. The successful candidate will be required to teach all sessions on the module.

Salary:
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £68.13 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
Contract:
