Senior Solution Architect

The University of Surrey is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape to support our academic and administrative functions.

Role & Responsibilities: 

You will be responsible for crafting robust architectural designs, leveraging industry and University best practices, and ensuring that the technology infrastructure aligns seamlessly with the University’s evolving needs.

This position will drive the integration of cloud-based services, data analytics, and emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and elevate the overall educational experience for all University stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including staff from student, teaching, academic and professional services, end-user representatives, and IT Services colleagues.
• Define solution goals, develop business and non-functional requirements, formulate initial solution proposals, and complete comprehensive solution designs.
• Evaluate the IT implications, technical feasibility, risks, costs, and resource needs associated with different solution alternatives.
• Research market offerings, undertake product evaluation, and coordinate the engagement of suppliers and consultancy organisations.
• Design, document, promote and initiate the implementation of the IT aspects of the solution, ensuring that appropriate standards are applied and processes are followed, engaging colleagues and users to ensure satisfaction and benefits realisation.
