The School of Health Sciences’ mission is to be a leader in health care innovation and education, addressing global healthcare challenges and equipping others to do the same.
The School of Health Sciences at the University of East Anglia is a vibrant academic community, with a strong commitment to world leading, applied health research and enterprise. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Associate Professor in Speech & Language Therapy (SLT), with proven expertise in dysphagia/eating, drinking, and swallowing (EDS), to join our experienced and dedicated academic team.
You will lead on the dysphagia/EDS strand of the SLT curriculum as well as overseeing content and assessment relevant to motor speech disorders and progressive neurological conditions. You will support practice education placements as an in-house educator, and contribute to wider programme and School educational priorities and scholarly activity. You will have oversight responsibility for maintaining and furthering the integration of dysphagia/EDS content across an evolving programme, while ensuring appropriate opportunities for students to achieve the necessary pre-registration competencies in this area (supported by and in collaboration with the Practice Education Lead and Course Director).
You will be a speech and language therapist with current or evidenced eligibility to secure registration with the HCPC and Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists. You will have first and higher degrees in SLT, linguistics, psychology, education, or other health-related disciplines. You will have extensive post-qualifying experience in dysphagia/EDS, and evidence of clinical and/or educational leadership in this area.
