Innovative Educational Partnerships Limited (IEPL) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DMU and is engaged by DMU to provide teaching and support staff for the operation of DMU’s new London campus (DMU London). DMU London is part of DMU’s ambitious growth agenda and will be a campus for teaching excellence, home to many disciplines and subjects, which have a focus on sustainability and employability, and providing students with an excellent choice of postgraduate programmes.
Employed by IEPL, the Career Development Officer will report to the Career Development Service Manager (DMU London), and assist in the development and delivery of employability skill enhancement interventions and programmes tailored to the needs of postgraduate international students and graduates through a range of activities including groupwork and designated caseloads.
The role will require close collaboration with the DMU London academic team to establish an impactful approach which encompasses embedded professional development in the curriculum complimented by engaging extra-curricular activities, events and programmes. Effective communication, coordination, engagement and partnership building with employers and relevant professional bodies will be key to the role as will the need for specialist knowledge relating to national and international labour markets.
This role will suit an experienced HE postgraduate careers guidance practitioner who has a background in supporting international postgraduate students. You will be able to offer extensive knowledge and understanding of the UK and global graduate labour market for postgraduates. Ideally, you will have existing networks of London based employers willing to support the employability skill development of DMU London students.
You will be experienced in delivering one-to-one and customer-facing support to individuals predominantly from an international background, as well as experienced in group facilitation. Experience in working with international students and staff will be an advantage.
