About us

UCL Department of Science and Technology Studies (STS) seeks to appoint one Lecturer (Teaching) to contribute to taught undergraduate and masters modules, and to undertake related academic support duties. This is a full-time (1FTE), fixed-term appointment, available from 1 September 2025 to 31 May 2026.

About the role

The main duties of the post will involve:

  • Teach undergraduate and masters modules in the subject area.
  • Complete marking for these modules in a timely fashion.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with the modules and with STS degrees.
  • Contribute to the academic life of the department.

The specific modules assigned to this post will likely include:

  • HPSC0006 Science, policy and politics;
  • HPSC0061 (Governing emerging technologies) and HPSC0092 (Responsible innovation), taught together as Emerging technologies and responsible innovation;
  • Teaching and/or assistance on teaching on further modules as directed.

Additional duties will be assigned, including light assistance with assessment on other modules, one-off sessions with undergraduate and masters students, and light enabling duties, such as assistance with recruitment, assistance with career tutoring, and student support.
