We are based within the School of Humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and have close collaborative and interdisciplinary links with other departments in the Faculty and across the wider University.
The role
The University of Southampton seeks to appoint a full-time, permanent Lecturer (A) in Archaeology specialising in Palaeolithic Archaeology and/or Palaeoanthropology. The successful candidate will enhance the reputation of Southampton’s Department of Archaeology regarding the archaeology and/or anthropology of human origins and evolution, and will contribute to the research culture of the department and the Centre for the Archaeology of Human Origins. They will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and will undertake leadership, management and engagement activities.
This full-time, permanent post is available from September 1, 2025.
