We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a talented and ambitious investigator to join The Centre for Genetics and Genomics Versus Arthritis (www.cfgg.manchester.ac.uk) which is a centre of excellence dedicated to investigating genetic and genomic risk factors for inflammatory arthritis based at the University of Manchester. The post will investigate the genetic causes of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and associated clinical outcomes.

We wish to appoint a research associate with experience of analysing a wide range of complex disease ‘omic’ data with a particular focus on JIA. The post holder will contribute to the analysis of genetic data from genotyping arrays and exome sequencing to help study key questions on clinical outcomes for patients with JIA. The candidate will lead the statistical analysis of the data and the production of manuscripts.

Suitable candidates will have a background in statistical genetics and bioinformatics with a PhD in a relevant subject. The candidate will have a track record of publishing in JIA genetics. The successful candidate will join a team of geneticists, clinicians and statisticians to better understand inflammation and inflammatory arthritis. You will have access to the Centre’s wealth of genetic, epidemiological and genomics data to lead statistical and bioinformatics analyses to assess outcomes, identify risk factors and investigate disease mechanisms for JIA.

Candidates must be available to start by the 1st of July 2025.
