The School of Human and Health Sciences is looking for an experienced midwife to join the midwifery team as a Skills Educator. The position offers an exciting opportunity for someone to develop and deliver an inspirational learning experience to our undergraduate and postgraduate students and apprentices who are studying midwifery. This is a full time post. Part time applications will be considered.

We offer traditional degree and apprenticeship degree routes leading to a midwifery qualification, and postgraduate provision includes the newborn and infant physical examination (NIPE) programme. You will work in a supportive team environment with opportunities for personal and professional development, career progression and working alongside leading academics.

The University of Huddersfield is a thriving University with a modern campus offering fantastic facilities for work and leisure. We have a diverse student body and professional partnerships with NHS and healthcare partners. Huddersfield is a lively town which is close to beautiful countryside and has excellent road and rail links to Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield.

You will be involved in the organisation and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate midwifery, and health related programmes in the university and practice setting. You will also provide support to learners, practice supervisors, and practice assessors within clinical practice areas.

As Skills Educator (Midwifery), you will have knowledge and experience of a range of contemporary midwifery practice. You will have a degree and be registered as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, with relevant post registration experience within the last 12 months, and evidence of continuing professional development. Commitment to supporting student- and apprentice-centred learning and innovative approaches to midwifery practice are essential. We would particularly welcome applications from people with training and experience in the newborn and infant physical examination programme (or equivalent).
