The Programmes and Projects Office, a new department at the University of Surrey, is looking to recruit 2 Project Partners. It’s an exciting time to be joining us here, as the Programmes and Projects Department is becoming established and taking on new pieces of work aligned to our 2041 strategy.
Project Partners facilitate smooth and efficient project planning, management and delivery, and foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation. They help to ensure that programmes and projects align with the University’s objectives and are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. They have overall project management responsibility for specific projects, working closely with both internal stakeholders and project owners, and other internal delivery teams.
One of the roles will have a broad remit, working across a number of projects, whereas the other role will work initially on the University’s Transnational Education (TNE) activity, and particularly on the establishment of a campus in India which needs to be ready for delivery of degree programmes by July 2026. For more details please see the job profiles below.
About you
We’re looking for an experienced individual with project management experience. Experience of working in HE is also an advantage. You’ll have experience of building relationships and contacts with a wide variety of colleagues and will demonstrate personal credibility when dealing with senior stakeholders. You’ll be able to work autonomously where needed, applying judgement and initiative when managing your workload to meet the long-term objectives of the project.
You’ll have a relevant degree or significant vocational experience, and the ideal candidate will also have a project management qualification.
What we can offer
The University of Surrey is located on a beautiful, leafy campus in Guildford, just 30 miles from London, and benefits from excellent rail, air, and road connections. With the buzz of student life and superb working facilities, the campus offers an inspiring, innovative, and diverse environment.
In addition to salary, you will receive a generous annual leave entitlement, a defined benefit pension scheme (USS), access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes, and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery.
