National Centre for Academic and Cultural Exchange (NCACE)

NCACE’s core mission is to facilitate and support cultural knowledge exchange and research collaborations between Higher Education and the arts and cultural sector and to create a highly regarded knowledge base to support better understanding of the social, cultural, environmental and economic benefits and impacts of collaborations. NCACE became part of SAS in Autumn 2024.

Role Detail

The main purpose of the Senior Manager - Knowledge, Evidence and Resources role will be to work with NCACE directors and wider team to achieve defined project targets in three related areas, all key to the development of NCACE’s Knowledge, Evidence and Resources. These are: Developing the NCACE Knowledge Base, Curation of Evidence and Policy Events, Co-ordinating training activities for ECRs and mid-career academics.

Developing the Knowledge Base: The role will support the development of the NCACE Collection, our key knowledge base, working on research reports, think-pieces and other materials to support: better understandings of the social, cultural, environmental and economic impacts produced by collaborations between Higher Education and the arts and culture sector.

Evidence and Policy Events: The role will curate activities to bring together: academics, Higher Education specialists (in areas such as Knowledge Exchange and Public Engagement), arts and culture sector professionals, policy-makers, funders and other sectors including local government for information exchange, dialogue and joined up thinking.

Training activities: The post-holder will co-ordinate a new Researcher Visibility and Collaborations Programme to support ECRs and mid-career academics to better communicate their research and to undertake collaboration and knowledge co-creation with arts and wider community actors.
