Background
The City Law School enjoys an outstanding international reputation (73rd in the world – 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings). The Senior Lecturer role (CLS, Academic Programmes) offers an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit academic community, further develop a strong scholarship profile, and support students across a range of programmes, within one of London’s leading Law Schools.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will have a track record of publishing internationally leading research outputs, with an outstanding reputation in their own subject area. They will have the capacity to make major contributions to research, education and the student experience in the Department.
They will have experience teaching diverse student groups, expertise in core or specialist areas of law, and the ability to deliver research-informed education. Candidates should be able to demonstrate commitment to equality, diversity and collegiality, with the ability to contribute to play a major role in academic administration, research funding and the broader academic community.
Person Specification
Candidates must hold a First Degree in Law (or equivalent) and a PhD in a relevant field. They mustdemonstrate engagement with the UK Professional Standards Framework meeting HEA Fellow Descriptor 2 criteria and provide evidence of working towards or meeting Descriptor 3 criteri a for HEA Senior Fellow Level.
Candidates should have strong subject knowledge, experience teaching undergraduate cohorts and proficiency in modern teaching technologies. Ability to teach Employability modules and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive education is essential.
