Business & Enterprise is the largest department within University College Birmingham, with almost 2000 students, it continues to evolve and grow, we are seeking to strengthen our leadership team with the appointment of a new Deputy Head. The department is part of our ambitious Business School, which spans a diverse range of curriculum areas, working collaboratively to enhance student experience and outcomes.
This role requires a strong leader with a solid understanding of the operational demands within a dynamic Higher Education environment, working under the leadership of the Head of Department. The successful candidate will be adept at fostering collaboration while helping to drive innovation and change. Engagement with a broad spectrum of business sectors, including SMEs, enterprise, and professional bodies, is integral to the role, alongside a commitment to supporting colleagues and students.
Applicants should bring substantial experience and expertise in a field relevant to the Business & Enterprise portfolio, expertise in the teaching of Finance, HRM, or Strategy would be of particular interest. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the postholder will maintain a small teaching and supervision workload, and contribute to the department's academic mission, whilst maintaining their own professional credibility.
