About the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide qualitative and quantitative research support for a research and impact programme on food reformulation. This role sits within the Research and Action on Salt and Obesity (RASO) Unit based within the Centre for Public Health and Policy, which works nationally and internationally to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based public health policies. The Unit aims to improve population health and food environments through research and impact on the nutritional quality of food and drink, with a track record of success in reducing salt and sugar by informing policy, influencing the food industry, raising awareness and building advocacy. The Unit is currently led by Dr Kawther Hashem.

About You

The successful candidate will have a degree and PhD (or close to completion) or research qualification/experience equivalent to PhD level in the relevant subject area for the research programme; with a productive track record and have experience covering the full range of duties required.

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into five research centres and the Centre for Public Health & Policy (CPHP) draws together groups focusing on women’s health, global public health, the national diet, and individual health and lifestyle.
