Your normal place of work is 6140 Knights Court Birmingham Business Park, Solihull Parkway, Solihull, West Midlands, England, B37 7WY. However, you may be required to work or be based at any premises the University occupies and may be required to work at any University site or any other reasonable location where the University is undertaking its business. The university does have an agile working policy, and this requires the postholder to be based in the UK.
About the school
The University of Gloucestershire School of Business, Computing and Social Science delivers a diverse range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses centered around business management and the application of computing in commercial, technical and creative fields. Research degrees, leading to the awards of MSc/MPhil/PhD, and a professional Doctorate in Business Management (DBA) are offered in a variety of business management, computing, digital marketing and sales, data science, IT, games and multimedia subjects. The course portfolio continues to expand, as does the range of research and consultancy services we offer to local businesses.
Staff from within the School will support the software engineer throughout the project; helping to ensure the project delivers an excellent final product for the company. The software engineer will also have the opportunity to register for a higher degree (if required) and develop further skills and experience (such as lecturing, project management and business management etc.), which will enhance their C.V. and future prospects.
About the role
We have an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled recent graduate, software engineer to join us and carry out this challenging and interesting KTP.
You will be required to research, design and develop an integrated smart cyber-security hub (iSecurity-hub) for efficient and effective cyber-security management, threat detection, misconfiguration detection, and securing system integrations between the information systems of Unielectronics and its partners. Addressing key cyber-security challenges by incorporating advanced expertise in cybersecurity best practices, data protection, and system integration. iSecurity-hub will be initially developed for Unielectronics and its partners, but the software can also be applied by similar companies doing B2B trading, which will provide the software engineer an excellent opportunity of grasp and practice knowledge, skills and experience with high job market value. You will also have a good opportunity to join Unielectronics after project. Unielectronics Ltd is a one-stop wholesale source for printing supplies and electronics equipment with a B2B business model. It serves customers with complete management and dropship services, sourcing the majority of its products from about 20 worldwide suppliers.
