Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Electronic Arts (EA)

Location: Hybrid – minimum 2 days/week at either EA Studios, Southam (CV47 2DL) or Alpha Tower, Birmingham (B1 1TT)
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience + £6,000 personal/professional development allowance
Contract: Fixed Term (36 months)

Aston University is seeking a talented graduate to join a KTP project with Electronic Arts Limited (EA), a global leader in interactive digital entertainment. This innovative project will develop and apply Data Mining, Machine Learning, Multi-modal Analytics, and Generative AI to automate and optimise developer productivity within game development processes.

The outcome will be a Smart Productivity Optimisation Platform (SPOP) that streamlines EA’s development cycles, increases iteration opportunities, and enhances game quality and feature delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to lead real-world innovation, working alongside leading academics and industry professionals, while gaining commercial experience and access to cutting-edge technologies.

Candidate Profile

You should have a Master’s degree (minimum) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) or a related discipline. A PhD is desirable.

Essential Skills

  • Strong project-based experience in Machine Learning, Generative AI, and LLMs
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and team performance metrics
  • Proficiency in Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Excellent communication skills, including training and user collaboration
  • Problem-solving ability and good time management

Desirable Experience

  • Industry or research experience in gaming or related sectors
  • Hands-on software development understanding
  • Productivity analysis in software or game development environments
  • AI applications including data annotation, classification, mining, and prompt engineering
  • Experience with LLMs (e.g., GPT-4, Llama 2)
  • Academic or technical writing and reporting

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with developers to create tailored productivity metrics
  • Mine and annotate data to identify correlations between features and performance
  • Mitigate hallucinations in LLM outputs and develop a near zero-hallucination SPOP
  • Run user-centric testing and integrate feedback
  • Ensure full SPOP integration with EA’s business tools and platforms
