Summary of the role
We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Project Officer to support the ‘Past Harvests’ project. This project is led by Prof Alex Inman within the Land Environment, Economy and Policy Institute (LEEP), University of Exeter Business School. It is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and aims to provide a systematic sustainability appraisal of land use systems at different historical reference periods providing insights into changes over time. It will provide historical insight into topics such as share farming opportunities, nutrient optimisation, agro-forestry, business diversification and farmer collaboration models; all of which are pertinent to current sustainability pathway discussions. The project is a collaborative and inter-disciplinary piece of social science research, with academic colleagues from Economics, History, Ecology and Engineering at the University of Exeter working in partnership with a number of large land owners and Estates across the UK.
The Project Officer will provide professional, efficient and effective administrative and financial support to the Past Harvests project, working closely with Prof Alex Inman, the project team and colleagues in LEEP and EI. The post-holder must be able to plan and prioritise a busy and varied workload, will be expected to contribute to a range of key projects activities and will be confident and effective in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
