The College is seeking to appoint a Career Development Fellow in Post-Kantian Philosophy, with effect from September 2025. This post is associated with an Official Fellowship at Corpus Christi College. This is a 4-year fixed-term teaching and research appointment in Philosophy, with a core focus on Post-Kantian Philosophy. The purpose of the post is to cover the College teaching of Prof Mark Wrathall, whilst he is on leave and holds a University administrative post.
The intention is to appoint a Post-Kantian scholar with a strong commitment to teaching and research and to provide a carefully structured period of preparation for those embarking on an academic career. The successful candidate must possess or be near to completing a doctorate in Post-Kantian Philosophy or a related field and must have experience of undergraduate teaching and possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. They should also have a research and publication record, appropriate to their career stage, in Philosophy.
The successful candidate must have the capacity to teach across a range of Philosophy papers as set out in the further particulars.
The total stipend will be in the range £39,355 - £41,467 plus additional allowances. The appointment will be pensionable under the USS scheme.
