Job synopsis:
The successful candidate will play a significant role (commensurate with the level of appointment) in teaching and research in German Studies within the interdisciplinary context of the School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics; engage in research activity, dissemination and sustained publication; teach on undergraduate and, if appropriate, postgraduate modules in German Studies, in particular German as a Foreign Language, the culture and literature of the German-speaking countries and possibly other areas, such as, for example, Business German, German film studies, sociolinguistics, translation, pedagogy, technology and language learning and intercultural communication; teach German language at all levels – ab initio to CEFR C1; undertake appropriate supervision, academic administration and committee work.
