Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science
Hours of Work: Full-time (1.0fte)
Contract type: 2-year Fixed Term
Leeds Trinity University has embarked on the delivery of a strategic ambition to provide a range of Nursing and Allied Health Professions’ programmes to support local, regional, and national workforce demands. As such, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Biomedical Science team to further develop our new undergraduate programme in Biomedical Science. Located within the growing School of Health and Life Sciences (HLS), this post provides a unique opportunity to lead on the design and development of key components of the Biomedical Science programme.
You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of innovative curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment strategies on Biomedical Science or related courses. You will have the opportunity to shape the direction of teaching and lead and develop your own modules in line with the requirements of the Institute of Biomedical Science and the QAA Benchmarks for Biomedical Science, as well as lead the development of further new programmes. We are particularly seeking candidates with subject expertise in Cytopathology, Histopathology and/or Clinical Immunology, to support the delivery of these core areas within the curriculum. You will lead, develop, and deliver high-quality teaching across the programme, plus other relevant subject areas within HLS (dependent on your experience). The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to independent research and/or enterprise activities and be involved in the delivery of research-led teaching.
You will be motivated, pro-active and engage with collaborative working both as a team member and with wider partners. We aim to ensure that we equip our students with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of laboratory skills and knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills such as leadership and robust digital and technology skills.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Dr Anne Coufopoulos, Head of School of Health and Life Sciences, A.Coufopoulos@leedstrinity.ac.uk), or Dr Kerrie Smith, Programme Leader for Biomedical Science, (Ke.smith@leedstrinity.ac.uk).
Closing date for applications: 2nd July 2025
Interviews for this post are expected to take place on 22nd July, at our Horsforth campus.
