CJBS is seeking an exceptional HR Manager to join our Human Resources team. This is an exciting and rare opportunity following a recent internal promotion.

As a strategic partner to the school's leadership and a trusted source of expert HR guidance for staff and faculty, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a responsive, high-impact HR service across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of People, CJBS, you'll also deputise in their absence, contributing to high-level decisions and driving initiatives that support both the current and future ambitions of the school.

The role:

  • Leading on key areas including recruitment and retention, employee relations, learning and development, performance management, and EDI.

The ideal candidate:

  • Degree-level education and CIPD Level 7 qualification.
  • Substantial generalist HR experience, ideally within higher education or a similarly complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR systems, and experience managing sensitive and complex casework.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Strategic thinking paired with operational expertise and the confidence to act independently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Familiarity with University of Cambridge HR policies and processes would be advantageous.
  • Experience of managing cultural or organisational change initiatives within a higher education context, and familiarity with University of Cambridge HR policies and processes would be advantageous.

This is a rare opportunity to lead, innovate and make a real difference within a dynamic, internationally respected academic institution. If you're passionate about delivering outstanding HR services and fostering a culture of inclusion and engagement, we look forward to hearing from you.

The interview process will consist of an assessment task and a panel interview. Those invited back to the second round will have the opportunity to meet with the CJBS HR team.
