Head of Department Law, Public Service and Education

The Head of Department is a key member of academic management, responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Department, its academic programmes and resources. This post will support the development of new and additional programme areas, and make contributions to support external engagement more generally, and specifically with key professional law and regulatory bodies.

It is expected that the Head of Department role will exhibit and possess the following attributes;

• Excellent leadership vision to develop strategic responses and new programmes
• People and communications skills to support change management
• Strong commercial acumen to manage operations and income generation
• Strong self-starter work ethic and ability to take initiative
• Ability to manage and work with other additional disciplinary areas
• Excellent relationship management & networking skills to support external stakeholder engagement

The successful applicant will form part of the School Management team along with the Head of School. The HoD will possess the requisite managerial, leadership, and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
