About the role:

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London is one of the leading chemical engineering departments worldwide and is ranked highly for undergraduate teaching. The student experience we provide is a substantial contributor to this success and we further strengthen the existing provision by addressing the wellbeing and mental health challenges that students face.

What you would be doing:

As maternity cover for our Student Wellbeing Advisor, you will continue to deliver the departmental wellbeing provision as well as providing direct wellbeing support to undergraduate and postgraduate students, working flexibly depending on individual students’ needs. You will listen, support, advise, signpost to College/external services and liaise with appropriate staff as needed providing a safe, confidential, collaborative space for students.

You will have a relevant qualification as well as experience of working in a further or higher education environment with a focus on student mentoring and support in a professional context.  You will also need to have experience of working within relevant professional protocols and policies, including safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality.

Further Information

This position is available full-time (35 hours a week) as a 13-month fixed-term contract.

The role follows a unique hybrid working model on the following basis:

This role requires 100% on-site working during the following periods as a minimum to support critical activity for this role:

  • Start of new academic year: September to mid-October
  • Autumn assessment period: Mid-November to mid-December
  • Spring assessment period: Mid-end of February
  • Main assessment period: April to mid-June
  • Resit assessments: Mid-end of August

Outside of these periods, this role follows a hybrid working pattern of 60% (or more) on-site, with the reminder working from home.
