Job description:
Are you passionate about ensuring that digital technologies work for everyone? Do you want to contribute to high-impact research that informs policy and industry?
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the development of the Digital Good Index (DGI) as part of the ESRC Digital Good Network (DGN).
The DGN is an interdisciplinary, cross-sector, international network of researchers, directed by Professor Helen Kennedy of the University of Sheffield. Our mission is to explore the fundamental question: what does a good digital society look like and how do we get there? It also asks how we can evaluate whether digital technologies have good societal outcomes. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work with us on this strand of our work, which we call the 'Digital Good Index’ (DGI).
The DGI builds on the research across our network. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with DGN researchers to develop a policy- and industry - facing output to help ensure that we have real-world impact. We set out some ideas about how the DGI might take shape on our website and in our paper: Evaluating the societal outcomes of digital technologies: building blocks and reflexive questions but we’re keen to hear your ideas about what it could look like too.
