This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
Research Services
This new part-time (0.5 FTE) post is available on a fixed-term basis from 1 Aug 2025 until 31 March 2030.
Summary of the role
The successful applicant will be supporting a research team advancing the understanding of forecasting climate tipping points. The team has been awarded £5 million by the Advanced Research and Invention Agency to investigate early warning signs of climate tipping points. The new project – Advancing Tipping Point Early Warning (AdvanTip) – will focus on an ocean current system that could tip quickly and soon.
The successful applicant will work with the project manager to support the Principal Investigator (Prof Tim Lenton) and the AdvanTip research team to deliver the project milestones on time and within budget. Key deliverables directly supported by the role include a biannual newsletter, quarterly webinars, masterclasses, policy briefs, and events. A key part of the role will be to support the Principal Investigator through diary management and coordinating the AdvanTip Management Board meetings.
