The Department of Languages, Cultures & Film wishes to appoint to a fixed-term Italian Language Assistant. The successful candidate will be a key member of our Italian team, working with colleagues to maintain and enhance our successful and innovative delivery of Italian language and culture teaching at undergraduate level, and to contribute to ongoing departmental and School initiatives in language teaching and learning. The successful candidate will have near-native or C2 proficiency in Italian, will be aware of the latest developments in language teaching, and will have some experience in teaching Italian or a modern language in an educational context. Experience of teaching Italian language and culture at a Higher Education Institution in the UK is desirable, as is a relevant postgraduate or professional qualification in a discipline directly relevant to language teaching.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the delivery and assessment of Italian language teaching across all undergraduate level and to be involved with teaching-related and administrative tasks, including public-facing and outreach activities.
The post is available from 8 September 2025 until 5 June 2026.
