About the Role
We are seeking an experienced manager to join the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE) as the Governance Manager. You will be a motivated and proactive individual able to oversee and ensure adherence to university regulations and requirements of professional bodies.
You will play a key role working closely with academic staff and professional staff across IHSE, the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and QMUL to maintain effective and efficient working practices, ensuring that transparent and relevant advice and support is provided for students and staff. You will have the ability to work sensitively and confidentially in challenging situations as well as exceptional organisational skills to balance competing pressures and manage student casework.
About You
The successful candidate will have experience of applying policy/regulations in a highly regulated area of HE or equivalent environment, understanding the complexity of working within regulatory frameworks. They will have experience of developing policy and procedures and high-quality information for students and staff, able to work within a team and autonomously.

One of six Institutes forming the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, the Institute for Health Sciences Education (IHSE) is responsible for the delivery of the faculty’s medical degree programmes. Together with partner hospitals and primary care practices, we provide an innovative, forward-thinking, and responsive curriculum to our passionate, diverse student body.
The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is a full-time post, offered on an indefinite contract, subject to a 12-month probation period. The salary will be Grade 5 in the range of £43,677 - £51,040 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance, with new appointments expected to commence at the start of the scale.
