Lecturer in Building Services Engineering

The Lecturer in Building Services Engineering will be part of an academic team within the Department of Building and Civil Engineering, ATU Galway. It is expected that the successful candidate will play an active role in the academic direction of programmes including teaching, research, academic assessment, and academic administration.

The lecturer will be challenged to maintain and delivering up to date information and technical know-how in a rapidly changing building industry environment. To inform this work, it is envisaged that the appointee will foster close working relationships with local and national organisations and other industry professionals.

The lecturer will teach core services modules on the undergraduate programmes in the department. The appointee will be expected to develop ‘best practice’ pedagogic methods to enhance the student’s learning. The teaching emphasis in the department is on the development of relevant skills using industry standard computer applications and techniques.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

• A Master’s Degree in a relevant Level 9 Programme [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)] or equivalent.
• Three years relevant post-qualification experience (Post Level 8 Qualification experience).
