About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and curious research assistant with a background in biology, neuroscience or a related field to join the exciting “innovaTEbehaviour” project, an ambitious research programme investigating how genomic differences between individuals drive behavioural diversity and innovation across animals and humans.

You will also help ensure the smooth operation of the Treiber lab, by monitoring lab stocks, managing orders and helping to maintain equipment and shared lab spaces.

Importantly, this role offers you the chance to develop your own indepdent research project within the broader scope of innovaTEbehaviour and the Treiber lab.  We will support your professional growth by helping you build your research skills and scientific independence. You will become part of an open-minded, supportive and intellectually vibrant environment in the Department of Biology and the wider University of Oxford research community.

Prior experience with Drosophila melanogaster is NOT required, and we welcome applications from individuals keen to learn new techniques and develop new expertise.
