The Role
We are seeking a highly motived, enthusiastic educator to join the MSc in Physician Associate Studies Programme Team.
The primary role is to deliver postgraduate education to physician associate students in years one and two. You will contribute to all aspects of the programme including teaching delivery and planning, curriculum development, student experience and recruitment. You will also contribute to all aspects of academic life within Newcastle University's School of Medicine and the broader Faculty of Medical Sciences.
The MSc in Physician Associate Studies Programme has been running at Newcastle University since 2016.
The programme draws from the extensive academic and clinical expertise in the School of Medicine as well as our clinical educators in primary and secondary care within our region.
The core team is a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, physician associates, nurses and academics. Our PA students and graduates are highly regarded as knowledgeable, motivated and highly skilled healthcare professionals. Many of our alumni remain involved with the programme through teaching and assessment.
The programme is part of the School of Medicine alongside MBBS, Medical Education programmes, Clinical Science programmes and Interventional Nephrology.
The School of Medicine is focussed on the development and delivery of undergraduate and post-graduate taught programmes in Medicine. The school has a reputation of delivering high-quality education and training, which is underpinned by the selection and development of excellent educators who are encouraged to experiment, innovate, and engage with scholarship in education. The school supports the development of skills in medical education through our own Master’s in Medical Education programme. We are also an international medical school, with a campus in Malaysia which runs the same medical degree programme as in Newcastle UK.
