The role
The University of Bristol Business School is inviting applications for an outstanding Lecturer (Assistant Professor) or Senior Lecturer in Management Science and Operations. This is a Research and Teaching role and is offered on a full time and open-ended basis.
Please indicate in your application which level of role you wish to be considered for.
What will you be doing?
Our School undertakes research at the intersection of business, social science and technology, leading projects that benefit our economy, society and planet. This type of research suits academics with disciplinary excellence who enjoy collaborating with colleagues in other fields, for example computer science, engineering, mathematics, psychology, sociology, law or health.
You should apply if
We are open to candidates with an ambitious research agenda that interfaces with any aspect of management science and operations. Applications from candidates whose work engages with any of the following topics are particularly welcome: behavioural operations, decision making in complex and/or uncertain environments, resilient operations and supply chains, and digital technologies. The role is primarily targeted at empirical researchers, i.e. academics that use real data in their research, and/or experimental researchers, i.e. academics that use lab, field or natural experiments.
We care deeply about education and the student experience. We expect the candidate to provide inspiring and innovative teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate or executive levels. With a particular emphasis on project management, though contributions to other areas within management science and operations are also welcome. We are increasing our interdisciplinary programmes and therefore interest in teaching on programmes with colleagues from other disciplines is an advantage.
Importantly, we want to be a great place to work. We have a very supportive and vibrant environment to help you progress in your academic career. You will be based in the Technology and Operations group which has built a reputation for engaged research, outstanding teaching and a supportive environment.
