The Office of the School of Arts and Humanities are seeking a School IT Technician who will be a key part of the School-wide IT team. The team provides a friendly and efficient support service to institutions as well as complementing local IT resources.
The successful candidate would be the first point of contact for IT support in all aspects of IT and AV. This role will be based in the Faculty of Architecture and History of Art for part of the week.
This role would suit someone proactive who is already working in IT in a Higher Education environment. An understanding of a range of operating systems including Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS clients is essential. Knowledge and experience of systems within the University of Cambridge would be an advantage. Experience of large plotters and specialist design software such as AutoCAD or Rhino is desirable, however, training can be provided.
Day-to-day, the role holder will be interacting with people either online or in-person and so we are seeking someone with strong customer service skills and experience, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well in a team and independently when required.
The successful candidate will be educated to HND, HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualifications or hold an equivalent level of practical experience.
This role offers an opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in IT and customer service, while contributing to the success of the School IT Team.
The School of Arts and Humanities consists of eight faculties and three other institutions with 650 staff members. The IT Technicians work across the School supporting several institutions including, Architecture and History of Art, Modern & Medieval Languages and Linguistics, Classics, Asian & Middle Eastern Studies, Divinity, Philosophy, CRASSH, and Institute for Technology and Humanity. There will also be opportunities for you to work with other faculties and services within the University.
