About the role

As Senior Research Project Officer, you will be working in the Sussex Centre of Consciousness Science, enabling and supporting the principal investigator (PI) and members of their research group to achieve shared objectives.

You will:

  • Oversee the administrative day-to-day running of the PI’s research group, as well as contributing to the development of longer-term plans and strategies
  • Work with the principal investigator to manage active research grants, to include support for reporting and liaison with the funding body.
  • Engage in a broad range of administrative activities that vary across the year:
  • Finance – purchasing, procurement, invoicing, budget monitoring
  • Human resources – staff recruitment
  • Data collation and analysis
  • Internal communications
  • Events management
  • Executive support for the Centre director

As a core member of the Centre of Excellence, you will enjoy a collaborative environment, working closely with researchers and professional services colleagues alike. Additionally, you will benefit from membership of the wider Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine Professional Services community, joining a supportive team of 30 research focused administrative staff.
