We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer with experience and interest in Medical Education. The initial role of this post will be to enhance our current quality assurance processes around clinical placements in the Department of Medical Education, and work closely with colleagues across Norwich Medical School and UEA. As a result, you will need excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work with data and have a good attention to detail.
You will also contribute to small group teaching, undertake a range of assessment activities; act as personal adviser to students (pastoral role) and support medical student selection interviews. There are a variety of roles that will be negotiated with individuals depending on their skills and experience, which will shape the scope and content of the various duties.
Teaching is a key part of this role and as such you will be expected to plan, teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, taking responsibility for the delivery and assessment of specific modules. This will include organising modules and developing teaching and learning materials. You will also take responsibility for some of the degree programmes within the school, supervise dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and promote enterprise and engagement at UEA.
A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area (or be near completion (within 6 months of appointment)) with experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and student assessment at all levels including coursework, examinations and undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations is essential. Supervision experience at postgraduate level and experience in relevant enterprise and engagement activities would be advantageous.
This full-time post is available from 1 December 2025 on an indefinite basis.
We strongly encourage male applicants and welcome applications from all protected groups as defined by the Equality Act 2010. Appointment will be made on merit.
