Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff.
An opportunity has arisen for the role of Mental Health Advisor. Through promoting maintenance of positive mental health and personal resilience to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students. The role will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and individual support to students with a diagnosis of a long-term mental health condition. The Mental Health Advisor will also deliver mental health awareness sessions to colleagues across the University, and contribute to serious incident reviews and support where necessary.
Essential to the success of this role will be:
The successful candidate will be degree educated and have a professional qualification. They must also have experience of working within the mental health field, be able to respond proactively to crisis situations and be able to work within a team and on their own initiative. An understanding of the specific needs of students in a higher education context is desirable.
