At St Mary’s University, we’re looking for a Placement Officer to join our friendly and dedicated Employability team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact, empowering our team in its work supporting students to take the next steps towards fulfilling careers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting students on modules with embedded placements and those on placement years to identify placements, make successful applications, and follow the necessary processes to record and monitor activity.
  • Taking responsibility for students on specific modules as their first point of contact for the placement element of the module through presentations, written communications and meetings.
  • Liaising closely with the lecturer team within the Centre for Workplace Learning, including updating on placement progress for each module cohort and being available for office hours to address student queries.
  • Working closely with placement providers to ensure all placements are safe and positive for students by checking documentation and undertaking placement visits.
  • Contributing to impact evaluation by ensuring feedback is completed.
  • Collaborating with other Employability colleagues including Careers Consultants and Employer Engagement to provide a positive student experience.
