We are looking for a Research Associate to join the DFG-funded project "Instability After Adverse Parental Life-Course Events and Educational Inequality." This post is based at the Moray House School of Education and Sport, University of Edinburgh.
The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will work closely with Dr Kristina Lindemann, the Principal Investigator, to prepare and analyse longitudinal data sources such as the German Socio-Economic Panel and the German Family Panel. The role will involve using advanced statistical methods to explore how factors like income instability, residential mobility, and high-conflict parental relationships may affect children's success in education. The post-holder will also contribute actively to the preparation and writing of research articles for submission to high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. The post will be available from September 2025 to June 2027.
The salary for this post is £40,497 to £48,149 per annum.
