We are open to applications from those who do not have previous or recent Project Officer experience.

This role is to be part of a team delivering high-quality and comprehensive support to Academic members of staff (Principal Investigators) who are engaged in externally funded research projects. Your role is key in the operational delivery of these projects. You will work closely with the Research Project Manager to assist with project tasks and ensuring we successfully deliver all projects.

Working with the Research Project Manager and occasionally casual Research Assistants, you will be contributing to the successful delivery of funded research projects and securing research income at the University of Reading.

The successful applicant will join the Project Setup Team (led by the Project Setup Manager) which sits within the wider Contracts Team Led by the Senior Contracts Manager and will work on a defined selection of projects.

You will have:

  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills, written and oral.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

The role holder will be based on the University's beautiful green Whiteknights campus which has won 14 consecutive Green Flag awards. The University provides a generous annual leave package of 26 days plus an additional 8 closure days which include bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time posts), and operates a flexible working policy. Usual working patterns would require attendance at our Whiteknights campus for 2 days every week.
