The role

We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate in Economics. This is a post-doctoral position, associated with a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant. The successful candidate will explore the long-term impacts of early life environments.

What will you be doing?

The research will involve quantitative analysis to explore the importance of early life circumstances on individuals’ later life health and human capital outcomes. It will also incorporate genetic data within the economic and social sciences. The project is based in the School of Economics, but it involves collaborations across multiple disciplines.

You should apply if

Candidates must have a PhD in a quantitative subject, ideally in (geno)economics, statistical genetics, or a related discipline or be working towards one.

They must have a keen interest in working across disciplines. Strong quantitative skills, and experience of using statistical software such as R or Stata is required.

The closing date for applications is 11.59pm on Wednesday 30th July 2025.

It is expected that interviews will be held in w/c Monday 11th August 2025.

The proposed start date is 1st October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
