An opportunity has arisen for a Pathology Support Technician for the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, based at the Sutton Bonington Campus.
The post is offered on a Fixed-Term contract. Hours of work are full time 36.25 hours per week.
The person appointed will carry out duties in the Post Mortem and Dissection Rooms at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency and Vet School. The main responsibilities will be assisting the Veterinary Investigation Officers with animal post mortem examinations by collection of tissues.
Candidates should possess GCSE's (grade C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English, or work experience in a similar role. An understanding of the basic principles of animal biology/anatomy is essential. The post will require flexibility and initiative, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and good communication skills. The successful candidate will take a positive and flexible approach to work to deal with a variety of requests and tasks.
