The Faculty of Law seeks to appoint an Undergraduate (UG) Programmes Administrator to independently manage a range of administrative functions for the BA in Jurisprudence, and the BA in Jurisprudence with Senior Status (a shortened version of the standard Law degree). The postholder will work under the daily supervision of the Academic Administrator for Undergraduate Studies.
The successful candidate will support all administrative aspects of the undergraduate Law programmes; be responsible for reviewing the option combinations selected by students each year and will report on the assessment windows each submission-based subject will need to use to avoid assessment clashes; provide support for student enquiries related to course queries, scheduling and other academic or welfare concerns, acting with tact and diplomacy, escalating matters appropriately; liaise with the Academic Administrator to undertake FHS end of year surveys and lecture surveys as appropriate; use various systems and software packages including eVision, Canvas, TMS and survey software.
Applicants will be expected to have strong administrative experience in a comparable role, and experience within the higher education sector is desirable. The postholder will be able to produce very accurate work to deadlines, without close supervision, and accustomed to handling large amounts of data and information; have excellent organisational skills and highly efficient working methods, able to independently manage and prioritise a number of competing tasks; able to work independently, using own experience, skills and initiative with good judgement for problem-solving and assessing when advice or approval is required and be an effective communicator.
This post is full time and permanent, based at Faculty of Law, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford OX1 3UL. The Law Faculty supports hybrid working, and currently requires staff to be on site at least 40% of their working week.
