The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate or Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in the SHUTTERING project for the development of novel structural elements manufactured with low carbon concrete and permanent auxetic formworks. This EPSRC funded post is available from 1st September 2025 to 28th February 2026 (possibility of extension). The successful applicant will support the research activities aimed at the design and testing of auxetic materials and advanced numerical modelling.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to develop complex numerical modelling, preferably using Abaqus, design and manufacture samples and experimental devices, and carry out relevant tests.
